  • This video shows that the Selection Tool and Type Tool are the easiest to learn because they are used constantly and behave similarly to tools in other programs. Placing images into frames is also pretty simple and becomes intuitive quickly. The video makes basic layout tasks like moving and resizing objects feel very beginner-friendly. However, tools like master pages start to get confusing because they affect multiple pages at once. The hardest parts introduced are paragraph styles and layout consistency tools, since they require more planning and understanding.

  • This video focuses on design, so tools like shapes, color swatches, and alignment tools are very easy to pick up because they are visual. Adjusting fonts, sizes, and spacing with the text panel is also beginner-friendly. The alignment and spacing tools make layouts look clean without much effort. More difficult tools include text wrapping, which can behave unpredictably if settings are wrong. The hardest parts are combining multiple tools together for complex layouts, which takes practice to fully understand.

  • This longer course shows that basic tools like creating text boxes and placing images are easy once you understand frames. Navigating the workspace and switching between tools also becomes comfortable quickly. The video introduces linking text frames, which is slightly harder but very useful for multi-page documents. More advanced tools like the Pages panel and master pages can be confusing for beginners. The most difficult tools covered are layers and multi-page layout management, since they require organization and planning across an entire document.

My name is Mia Matteo, I am a freshman. I am from a small town in South Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia. One fun fact about me is that I have a brother who goes to UT and is a senior. Another fun fact is I went to high school in Delaware, even though I live in NJ. I like to hang out with friends, go to the pool or beach, I love to shop as well, and go for walks.  I am excited to take this class, it is different from any other classes I've taken. I did not take any art classes in high school so I think it will be fun. I also think this class could be challenging at times, but a fun type of challenge. I expect to learn how to make things online look more appealing, and learn how to use new software. I am nervous about learning a new software and having to work with it fast, but I think it'll all be good.

 This is a picture of my best friend and I from home. We love going to the beach and being by the water because it is where we have the most fun and best memories. So I made us appear to look like we're sitting on a dock on the water. I added a dolphin in the water to make it more peaceful and relaxing. I also added a sunset and a orange/yellow sun. I also added a plane to just fill some emptiness in the sky.

BW to color

 I chose to try and stick to colors that worked well together. Then I tried to match my outfit together keeping my skin color more muted, as well as my hair. I used a compound color combination, complementary, and square.
